Step 1: Confirm Your School Zone

Before starting, verify that your residence is zoned for Vestavia Hills City Schools. Visit the School Zone page to verify your address or see a listing of apartments zoned for VHCS.

Step 2: Gather Required Documents

You will need:

1. Alabama Certificate of Immunization
2. Student’s Birth Certificate
3. Proof of residency (either a current and valid lease or recorded deed)
4. A power bill in the custodial parent’s name for the current month, showing the residence property address
5. One other type of business mail tied to the residence (Gas or Water bill)
6. Parent/Guardian Photo ID
7. Custody documentation (if applicable)

Having these ready will make the process much faster.  During online enrollment, you will upload your required documents.

Step 4: School Review and Confirmation

After submission:

• Your child’s zoned school will review your documents
• You may be contacted if additional information is needed
• You will receive confirmation once your enrollment form and required documents have been received
