While students enjoyed a day off from school on October 14, Vestavia Hills City Schools teachers spent the day learning, collaborating, and growing together. Teachers across all schools participated in professional development sessions focused on strengthening instruction, aligning lessons across grade levels, and preparing for new state academic standards. They also took time to review student data and share ideas to support learning in their classrooms. Days like this reflect our commitment to employee engagement — ensuring our teachers have the support, resources, and time they need to continue improving their craft for the benefit of every student.

The Vestavia Hills Board of Education met on Monday, Oct. 27. During the meeting, the Board approved an updated job description for the Director of Technology role as well as a brand licensing agreement with a local business. The Board approved its regular monthly financial statements, personnel actions, disposal of property, and various field trips.
